Multi-Family Housing
Newark, New Jersey
The intention of our project was to create urban housing with all of the amenities of a free-standing house- landscape, driveway, daylight, and views- along with a public space that would serve the residents of Newark and commuters using the Broad Street transit hub. Using stacks and offsets, a new artificial landscape of boxes and slopes was created. The two programs of housing and commerce face each and coalesce in a landscaped valley below, in which the daily activities of the city take place.
