Grand Street Apartment
Lower East Side, New York
This project required the precise insertion of a modern kitchen and bathroom into an existing 1500 square foot apartment built in the 1950’s. A folding canopy in the kitchen is envisioned to unify the space and modulate between varying wall planes. In the bathroom, the delineation of space using color expands the reading of a small space with low ceilings into something much larger. A custom poured concrete sink and glass shower tiles complete the space.
